I compare different approaches and try to understand their individual limitations, in order to draw conclusions that can serve as general guidelines for an improved parametrisation scheme. Classification of galaxy morphologies. Modern sky surveys contain millions of galaxies, i.e. a visual classification is absolutely infeasible. In my master project I showed that it is possible to set up an unsupervised learning (clustering) algorithm that is able to discover reasonable morphological classes without any prior assumptions.
