Granny Weatherwax (Louisa Knobloch) Granny is the leader of the witch coven in Lancre. Although she intends to do good (or rather what she thinks of ”good”) she is said to be an evil witch and the people of Lancre are quite afraid of her. When she was young she confronted the Queen of the Fairies and made an enemy for life.She never got married and even had to kill her sister in a magical combat so she probably is very lonely.

Magrat Garlick (Julia Knobloch) Magrat, the youngest witch of the team, is in love with Verence, whom she helped to become King.She feels the other witches don’t take her serious (in fact no one does). The reason being she talks to mice and likes flowers and bright dresses and stuff. And she thinks she could lead her life as fairy tales work. But in fact, on the back of the turtle, you can.

Nanny Ogg (Mirjam Karcher) Nanny Ogg, mother of most of the population of Lancre, is a jolly old woman who likes alcohol and singing. If harmless compared to Granny, she is loathed as much as her by her children and her daughters in law. After Granny disappears, she has to organise the battle against the elves.

Mustrum Ridcully (Jürgen Mendrek) The Archchancellor of Unseen University returns to Lancre after 50 years to visit the wedding of Verence and Magrat. Many romantic memories come back which confuses him and so he almost loses everything in the beginning war.

Giamo Casnunda (Christian Bauer) Casanunda is a Highwayman, a dwarf and world’s second greatest lover. He joins the wizards and finally meets the love of his life: Nanny Ogg.

Shawn Ogg (Jan Röthel) Nanny’s youngest son and Lancre’s standing army and all of the staff of the caslte. It is important to him that ”all is done properly”. He will become a great hero once. But not in this film.

King Verence II (Nico Mendrek) The new King and former court jester. After King Felmet (see Wyrd Sisters) died, the witches made him King. At least he doesn’t set fire to houses. Now he needs a Queen and he chooses Magrat. Unfortunately the Queen of the Fairies has already chosen him as her husband.

Death(Jan Schiller/Jan Röthel) Himself. He’s got a lot to do.

The Queen of the Fairies (Bianca Domke) She is beautiful. She is powerful. She is evil. She is waiting for her chance to return in the world of mortals to rule over these ”lesser beings”. She has a personal interest in the destiny of Granny Waetherwax.

Lord Lankin (Michael Augenstein) The Queen’s High Lord of War and most important henchman. He leads the swarms of Elves to Lancre Caslte after the gate to the world of mortal men is opened.
