Welcome !

I am an assistant
professor in political science
at the University of
Heidelberg and an external research fellow at the Mannheim
Center of European Social Research (MZES).
My research interests comprise comparative legislative politics, institutional reforms, constitutional political economics, and the European Union politics. Currently I am heading a research project on the Effective Control of European Union Politics by national parliaments funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG). Furthermore, I am running a project on decision making in committees funded by the Landesstiftung Baden Württemberg. Also, I am continuing my research on the domestic origins of governemtns' European and, more generally, foreign policy preferences. The reminder of this website presents more about my research and teaching activities.
