Generally, polyclads use the beating of the fine hairlike ventral cilia
to glide along the ground. Another mode of movement is swimming by rhythmic
contractions of body muscles. Throwing the margines of the body a consecutive
series of undulating waves are generated propelling the worm through open
water. |
